“That man has nothing but what he strives for; That the fruit of his striving will soon come in sight; Then he will be rewarded with reward complete; That to Thy Lord is the final Goal; That it is He who grants Laughter and Tears; That it is He Who grants Death and Life” 17 septembre 2004. – The Afar Association in North America (AANA) expresses its profound sorrow for the loss of Mr. Ahmed Dini Ahmed, the first Premier Minister of Djibouti after the country become an independent country from French colonial rule. He died on September 12, 2004. Mr. Ahmed Dini was an advocate of political change. He fought for equality and justices for the people of Djibouti. During the struggle for liberation he was the prominent figure who fought French colonial power to free the people of Djibouti from colonial yoke. He fought to liberate all the people of Djibouti. Undoubtedly the people of Djibouti and the country lost one of its visionary son. He was a chromatic leader who did not rest to serve the people to achieve better life, liberty, equality and justices for all. His work and his name will be remembered by all present and future generation of Dijboutians. Our wholehearted condolence goes to his family. Inalilah wa inna ileyhi raaji'un.
