Ethiopian Airlines va commencer des services réguliers vers Paris
Addis-Abeba, 26 septembre 2003, Ethiopian News Agency (ENA) – Ethiopian Airlines devrait commencer des services réguliers vers Paris le 7 novembre 2003, selon un communiqué transmis par la compagnie aérienne à ENA vendredi [26/09/03].

Les vols partiront d'Addis-Abeba les mercredis et vendredis avec retours les jeudis et samedis, selon le communiqué.

Ethiopian to Start Scheduled Services to Paris
Addis Ababa, September 26(ENA)-- Ethiopian Airlines would start regular scheduled services to Paris on November 7, 2003, a news release the Airline sent to ENA on Friday says.

The flights depart from Addis Ababa on Wednesdays and Fridays with returns on Thursdays and Saturdays, the release said.

Ethiopian Annmounces Plan To Shift Copenhagen To Stockholm
Addis Ababa, September 26 (ENA) – Ethiopian airlines announces plan to shift its operation in Scandinavia from Copenhagen to Stockholm, Sweden beginning form Oct. 28, 2003.

A press Statement issued by Ethiopian on Friday said it would fly to Stockholm twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays with return flights on same days.

As a gateway to the Scandinavian countries, the route to Stockholm is believed to add remarkable business opportunities, trade, shopping and sight seeing to the extensive network of Ethiopian, according to the statement.


Ethiopian, South African Airways Sign Code Share Agreement
Addis Ababa, September 26 (ENA) – The Ethiopian Airlines (EAL) and South African Airways signed a Code Share agreement aimed at enhancing traffic on the Addis Ababa and Johannesburg route, EAL said.
According to a news release EAL sent to ENA on Friday, the current three weekly flights of EAL on the Addis Ababa - Johannesburg route would be operated under the Code Share arrangement.
"Ethiopian Airlines will be the operating carrier, while South African Airways the participating carrier," the release said.

The new agreement was believed to provide better business opportunities beyond Southern and Eastern African points, the release said.

"Ethiopian will benefit in terms of traffic feed and more visibility in the Southern Africa market while South African Airways will have the opportunity to maintain its presence in the market even though it stopped its operation on the sector recently," the release said.

The agreement was signed by Kinfe Kahssaye, Executive Officer of Corporate Planning and Development with EAL, and Dumisani Sangweni, Executive Manager, Alliances of Africa and Middle East with South African Airways here at the Head Office of Ethiopian Airlines.

Both EAL and South African Airways are among the longest serving carriers in the African continent.


Menaces de fermeture de l’aéroport d’Hargeisa
Paris, 8 octobre 2003 (LNA) – Construit en 1973, l’aéroport de la capitale somalilandaise avait interrompu ses activités pendant la guerre civile. Il a réouvert en 1997, mais un trafic important a sérieusement endommagé ses installations. Très utilisé pour des opérations humanitaires et des vols régionaux, l’aéroport nécessite des travaux importants. Le PNUD et l’Aviation civile internationale vont intervenir pour un montant de 150.000 $US. Mais selon le PNUD, cela ne sera qu’une solution de court terme qui permettra à l’aéroport de fonctionner pendant les six prochains mois.
